Casey L. Hinkle joined Miller Wells PLLC after practicing for five years in the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP. Ms. Hinkle is a graduate of the University of Louisville and Cornell University Law School, where she was an editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy. While at Latham, Ms. Hinkle handled a wide range of complex civil and criminal litigation matters, including securities litigation, contract matters, professional liability issues, bankruptcy litigation and government investigations. Ms. Hinkle was also very active in Latham's pro bono practice, achieving successful outcomes for her clients in wage and hour, housing discrimination, and immigration matters, and earning three awards from the New York Legal Aid Society for providing outstanding representation to New York's under-served communities. Recently, Casey obtained favorable verdict for a Big Four accounting firm after an 8-day arbitration of business torts claimed by a tax shelter investor, defended an international construction company against investigations by the Manhattan DA's Office and OSHA in the wake of fire at a building under abatement and deconstruction that resulted in the deaths of two firemen, and defended individual executives in the financial products group of an international insurance company against investigations by the DOJ and SEC in the wake of the financial crisis.
